Sister Talking: Where are my tributes?

Dear Judith,
I'm really pissed with Stardoll. Not only they didn't release a Christmas Calendar, which even if I don't buy everything is one of my favorite things ever. I love coming everyday opening one little window and having a little surprise every day until one of the best days of the year: Christmas! It's my favorite countdown. I love doing it with chocholate in real life (one day I will buy one of those calendars from make up brands where you have a little mini sample) and I used to love doing it here on Stardoll as well. But NOT this effing year, and usually (if I'm not wrong), at least one tribute should have come already, but here we are... waiting & waiting & waiting... Holiday Tributes are another one of my fave things on Stardoll. Why are they doing this to me? Why are they doing this to us? I don't understand it. They raise prizes and they don't even give us a Calendar or Tributes?

I guess eventually tributes will arrive, and I hope they are not crazy expensive as usual shops in Starplaza are getting, where you pay more than 20 stardollars for tees and like 15 stardollars for a lace around your neck. And that day, we will be here, writting Store Statements about them. Until now, I'll be here, complaining about everything and regretting buying stardollars for this Christmas. Luckily for me, I will use them on Cycle 13 on FM-Style, that in case you don't know... Spoiler Alert! CYCLE 13 is coming REALLY SOON! Check the tab under the banner "COMPETE" for more information about our club.

And well, what should I do while I wait for Tributes? Are they trying to make me buy pets with the new store from Pêt à Porter? I hope not.... And CHiMi? At least it is cheap, but instead of CHiMi, effing GiveMe MY TRIBUTES!!!! [In my spanish accent I would pronounce CHiMi like CheeMee, so it rhymes with GiveMe]

So, as CHiMi is still something, do you want to see what are my favorite shades? The shop is composed by three floors and in each floor there's a model of sunglasses in 8 available colors. This is my favorite color for my doll in each shape combined with a lipstick from Dot.

And yeah, this is what you do when you have a stardoll blog and you are bored and have some free time while you work. Hope you enjoy my rant and my combo of CHiMi + Dot.

Sister Talking: New collections

Dear Mireia,

We need to talk about this situation we're living. There's some kind of untalked pact between us to not speak about that section we used to call Store Statement. Stardoll has been releasing new collections and yet either of us has done a post about it. 

I must admit that it is one of the most boring sections to elaborate. It takes time to search or create outfits with the new items and the collections are never that amazing that we're crazy about sharing all our favourite items and what can we do with them. And now that summer's over we have university duties and our new Hot Buys section which requires our time and attention too, which leaves us with this lack of Store Statements. 

I don't think it's a big issue, when we have time and feel like it we will make one and it will be good. I think it's worse if we just keep doing them half-heartedly, cause then it won't be quality content. And quality over quantity, right?

Anyway, the fact that we haven't reviewed the new collections doesn't mean we can't ever talk about them, so with the new Millionaire Mansion coming out I thought it would be a good idea to give you a little summ-up of my opinion of all of them together in this Sister Talking.

I'm talking about Tingeling Halloween Couture, Rio, Fallen Angel, Voile, and as I said before, Millionaire Mansion (although it turns out that now if you don't have the millionaire mansion suite you can't buy the items from the brand, which it makes sense but it had never been this way before). And out of all those new items from all those different ones these are for me the good ones:

RIO: I usually don't like Rio at all so this collection surprised me in a good way. I think you didn't buy anything though, so I'm not sure if you agree on this, but the green/purple/yellow items remind me a bit of Versace and I think they can look if you wear them with the right stuff. And I guess you already know how much I like that ruffled top. It's so bold which makes it perfect for finishing a super casual and simple outfit!

Millionaire Mansion: With Millionaire Mansion it happened exactly the opposite than with Rio. I usually like their items a lot and this collection was a bit of a failure. I don't know, there are a quite a few items that it's like I get the idea behind them but I feel like they didn't get the desired final result, like they should be good but they aren't. I would just save the bags. Specially the pink one, you know I love that colour! Plus it's a copy of the Louis Vuitton Capucines and stardoll versions of designer pieces are always good!

Fallen Angel: I think we were both quite happy with Fallen Angel and the new pieces. We even had to have our typical discussion about who got which items. I'm thanking you again here for letting me have the pink body. I like as well the pink tunic you got, I think it's more difficult to style but I'm sure you will do a great job with it, I can't wait to see it how you wear it in fact! About the pants, I think I already mentioned you in person my opinion before buying them, they look really nice and perfect for autumn, so that leaves me with the beanie! I hadn't noticed the beanie until I made an outfit with it for a com at our partner blog SMW, but the truth is it's quite cool! I think it's more your style than mine though, so I'm not gonna buy it, but hey, just sharing my opinion here with you in case you want to give it a thought! ;)

Voile: Voile didn't make it for me. I remember I was really surprised when you said that you wanted a few items because from the entire two new floors I only was interested in the black velvet body. That specific item I think it's really cool and can be used either as something basic in an outfit or as the center of attention. I don't remember now what were those items you liked, but well I'm sure you will be able to pull them off. To be honest it's not that I don't like the collection, the collection it's great! Inspired by Elie Saab! You know I love Elie Saab... But it's just too elegant for my taste. We both agree that we don't like to buy gowns or very smart clothes on stardoll cause they give you less freedom on how to style them, although it's Voile after all, it's supposed to be elegant, but I think you understand me, sometimes the items are more versatile and even if they look super elegant on the store you can use them for casual outfits later. 

Tingeling Halloween Couture: I did not buy anything from Tingeling but it did surprised me positively as well. We also commented it, that we both were expecting clothes a lot more halloween-like, more for making costumes rather than outfits, but instead they brought us a nice collection based mainly in snakes. You bought the blazer and pants combo in a red snake print and I have to say that I love it. I've seen a few girls around stardoll wearing it and looks so cool, very Roberto Cavalli style (not sure if I just came up with this comparison or if I read it somewhere). I would have definitely bought the green body with the snake on it, but it's only for Superstars and right now I'm not so... Not happening. 

And I did some outfits too just to have some fun and for old Store Statements sake! ;)

Sister Talking: LE released

Dear Judith, 

Stardoll has released a new collection of Limited Edition. We've been there when some of the items were still available, but we are not superstar right now and we didn't feel like paying real money for virtual clothes. I was going through the store though, and saw a lot of items I liked. In my opinion, this release is one of the good ones. If all the items I like were available maybe I would have gone for the superstar pack and get my (virtual) hands on some of those clothes.

As I didn't, and you didn't either, and as we're not doing Store Statements on limited collections, I started doing some outfits just for fun on the plaza. Then I remembered we have this section where we can talk to each other and share our thoughts with the other and with the rest of people that is reading this (hello guys!).

My favorite piece is the blue fur coat and the Saint Laurent hat. You loved the Gucci bag once you saw it, and I have to say that is one of my favorite pieces as well. I don't know why but I love those burgundy and gold boots from Aquazzura. The (obviously sold out) belts are to die for! There are other pieces that are pretty fine as well, like the nude transparent top, the Rodarte pants or the thin black scarf.

I tried to create some outfits with my fav items just for fun, so... here they are! My favorite is the first one.. I didn't notice the super cool choker there is on the store, or I would have added it on the first outfit. And oh well, I would have removed the white choker I'm wearing for the other two outfits. Hehe, sorry about that!

Sister Talking: The best of the best (Part II)

Dear Mireia,
So I was in the mood to post something today and I thought why not finishing that trip to the past taking a look to our best posts? 

Let's start with the Shopping posts! I'm supposing you must hate those by now. From your part they have kind of become an annoying promise between your Gift-O-Meter posts (which you haven't ended yet btw) and the Christmas Calendar ones. But you can find pretty good material between those. 
My favourite from the Gift-O-Meter is the forth out of ten (check the entire post HERE), when you styled the jumpsuit. You managed to create many different outfits of very different styles and all of them beautiful. And hey! Special appearance of this person who's writing! ;)
And about the Christmas Calendar there are actually more than one outfit that were really good but if I have to pick just one (which I must cause if not these post would be too long) I'm choosing the one who features these weird mixture of jeans and a christmas tree (HERE), because you magically made them look so cool. 

And there are two other posts I have really enjoyed thanks to your beautiful outfits. The one with the IT Girls Hot Buys Retro Flares and the one with the Keep Me Warm Scarf where I absolutely adore every single outfit. 

When it comes to our Simulating posts there aren't so many of them, as we started to make them a little bit later, but we do have these two looks which are almost an exact replica of the original and very stylish options to dress our dolls. 

 

Moving on to the beauty section of the blog: Splendorous! I must say I'm quite proud of this section. In stardoll you and I focus way more on the outfits than the make-up and hair part, but our beauty posts are quite good content in my opinion. From your tutorial videos, my favourite is the Valentine's Day look, to some interesting rankings of the best wigs or the best accessories, I quite like the Hair Trends Brought To You By Stardesigners.

In general, I found all posts interesting but I feel like I must list these ones because I really like them:

• All about Red (NOTE: In this one it's not the make-up looks what I like but the format of the post in which I give my personal opinon after trying the products, it makes an honest review of the make-up collection).
• 4 Looks with Red Lips

• 4 Different Ways to Use a Wig

• Bronze!

I thought about including as well some of the best outfits seen at the Spotted or Seen on FM-Style posts, but those posts are already selections of what we love from what we see, which means I basically really like all of them, which means that supposed selection would be either too long or too difficult. So I'm going to skip those two sections, but you can always check them clicking on their names at the end of the blog page under "Sections".

So, to end this post and this reminiscence I'll include some photos of my favorite collages or inspiration outfits from the Surrounded by Trends posts. By the way, I'm going to take this opportunity to let you know that the idea behind this section is to make it very visual and that's the reason why there's almost no text (I had never explained this because of that reason as well hehehe).

Sister Talking: The best of the best

My first Sister Talking post! So excited! I finally have time to create new content for the blog other than the Street Style posts. The lasts weeks of this semester have been tough but now that they're finally over and summer is here I can relax and hopefully post more frequently. 

The truth is that before I was flooded with projects and exams I had started this post twice and ended up changing the topic. Nothing seemed enough good for my first Sister Talking, and one day, while I was going through our blog the idea came to my mind! And the timing couldn't be more perfect, cause I'm realising now that this post it's our 375th post in the blog! Which makes the perfect day for going through all the Stylish Stardoll Sisters history.

I don't remember quite well how the idea of starting the blog came up, I just know that somehow you convinced me to do it and that we were so excited about it. We put a lot of attention to all the blog details and design, and it looks like we did a good job as we haven't gotten tired of it yet. And to show how proud we were with the final result the first post came out, with matching outfits in white and mint, matching as well the blog aesthetic. And on the same day a Sisters' Style post, of course, as it is the base of the blog (quite proud of this one I really like the outfits that we did, Mireia!).

 

Continuing with the Sisters' Style posts, I think that my favourites so far have been these three:

  

I love both of our outfits, plus at the same time they're quite different and show what we wanted to show with the Sisters' Style posts in the first place: different perspectives on how style the same piece.

Moving on to the Store Statements I was quite surprised to find this cool lay outs of our favourites items of a collection in the very beginnings of the blog. And the first one was made by you, Mireia! You're always telling me that I do these lay outs better and look at you! I love this "MUST HAVES" one. 

 

Also, thanks to the Store Statements we have shared here really cool outfits, either made by one of us or taken form other super talented dolls out there. 

 

But out of all the Store Statements we've made I think that the coolest is the one you did of the Polisehd new collection. I mean, how a Store Statement about nails could turn out so great? 

 

And what about the Street Style posts? Those are the most frequent I'm afraid, and I have to admit that your idea of posting our Street Style outfits together was marvelous! It looks so much better! We have some great individual outfits like these:

(NOTE: I must say that when we started with this you had style but I didn't! I could only save one of my outfits... Hhahahahhaha I still had a lot to learn I guess...)

But compare those with our Street Style posts together! I repeat, much, much better now. :) Although I admit that I have only included here the best ones and the ones that were both of similar styles as they look very cute when they are "coordinated".

We are leaving great stuff here sis! I'm very proud with our work. I would love to go over as well through the Shopping posts, the Splendorous ones, my beloved Surrounded by trends... But I'm afraid this Sister Talking is already too long. But anyway, I can always do a Part II if you like it, or even you could do it! ;)

Sister Talking: An Introduction

Dear Judith,

Today I wanted to create a new post for our beloved blog, but I realised I didn't have enough time to do so. That's why I came running to you to tell you this new idea I had on my head and talking and talking we both came together with this new section that I am starting today: Sister Talking.

Now, I want to explain to our readers what this will be about. Basically, it's a section where we get to talk about stardoll related things, giving our opinion, maybe sharing this outfit we made on the Starplaza, or just talking about how we like red lipstick and now our dolls are wearing it. In conclusion, a more personal section that allows us to maybe get a more direct connection and create a quick post that we can make in 15 minutes instead of spending a whole hour or more. Hello busy lives... 

So, I decided to start this new section like this. Like a conversation between us, hence the "Sister Talking", like we are writing a letter to the other one. Then we can share whatever we want to with the other, answer on the next post (or not) and just keep the conversation going on. 

Today, I actually wanted to tell you how much I liked this golden ankle boots that Stardoll released on Callie's Picks, celebrating their 10th anniversary. By the way, did you know that we've been here since 2007 and that makes us like veterans on the site? If it's their 10th anniversary... and we've been here for 9 years... We are here almost since the beginning! Wow! But back to what I was saying, do you like them? I wasn't sure whether to buy them or not, but when I did this outfit... I thought they were pretty cool and different, so that maybe would allow me to create some original but fashionable outfits... I don't know, just tell me what you think. 

Oh, and I was doubting about buying this sunglasses but I'm definitely gonna buy them after this! Are they on your whishlist? Is there something of my outfit on your wishlist? Because basically I did it with some of my fave items that I still have to buy (top, shorts and sunglasses). Let me know! :)

PS. While we were thinking about names starting with S for this brand new section... BUM! I love the other idea we came up with for another section! But our readers will have to wait for this one until the 1st of May. Just a clue in case they are reading this, it will involve them and it will be a monthly section. Do you think they will guess what it is?
