Store Statement: Velvet Orchid

Hello there!
It's been a while since I last wrote one Store Statement! In case you don't recall what it is, it's one of our blog sections in which we review a new collection that has been "recently" launched on Stardoll.
This time I am here to review the new floor on Velvet Orchid that was released last week.

In general there are some nice items, and even though I have preferences for some, there are quite a lot that I think can look very cool in different outfits. However, my favorite pieces from the collection, the ones that have been added to my wishlist are three:

The collection brings me futuristic vibes, with plenty of different textures including shiny pieces and so many transparencies. Of course, I would also like to share some outfits I did with some items. After all, that's our favorite part from the post, isn't it? ;)

Store Statement: Subcouture

Hello to anyone who is reading this!
It's been a while since Judith or me did one writing post, but when I see collections like this new one from Subcouture I can't help it. Here's how the two floors of the store look like:

Now, where do I begin? With collections like this one, where all the items are so trendy right now, I just want to buy it all and wear it. At the same time. Without thinking. I love it. Some pieces maybe not that much, but still, I spent all my (star)dollars on this. Here's what I bought in two outfits I did with these amazing pieces:

Store Statement: Dior Tribute

This is starting to look like the reviews of the Christmas Calendar Mireia used to do... It's almost April and we're still reviewing the Tributes that Christmas holidays brought. At least these clothes are more interesting.

MIREIA'S EDIT: Stop making fun of my Christmas Calendar reviews!! Also, it was not Christmas Calendar (I did my research), it was the Gift-o-meter! And I completed them and I'm proud ;) You can see them here if you're curious: Christmas Gift-O-Meter (2015). And we will complete the Store Statement's from all the Tributes, do not worry.

I'm happy with this Tribute. I ended buying just the blue denim jeans cause I didn't have enough stardollars but in my opinion there are various interesting items here. One that seems to have been a total success is the striped shirt with the big sleeves. To be honest I really liked it and wanted to buy it but again I had to be more selective and in the end I went for the jeans. But I've seen a lot of good stylings with this shirt. It's that kind of item that it's simple and kind of a basic but with a cool twist that can really elevate an outfit. 

I also liked the yellow items (that yellow colour it's very cool and pops out easily so can be a great addition to some outfits), the accessories (specially the hats that both look very cute) and the jackets (which all are quite big and perfect for layering in addition of being already cool by themselves).

And as always we finish with our outfits. I feel like I'm saying this a lot lately but honestly, this clothes give you a lot of options for stylings, VERSATILITY!

Store Statement: Fendi Tribute

Well, hello there! It's been a while since the last Store Statement. Let me remind you what we were doing in here. We are reviewing all the Tributes that were launched during Christmas 2017. We started with Versace (click here to check it out), and now, as you may have guessed for the tittle, it's time for Fendi!

Fendi came with three new floors. I have to say that at first sight I was not very excited about this Tribute, but when I payed close attention to each item individually I liked a couple of pieces. Let's dive right into it.

Store Statement: Versace Tribute

Hello, hello!  Here we start again all the Store Statements from the Tributes we had during the Winter Holidays. There were a lot of Tributes, which we are very happy about. We have been a bit absent but we did not stop buying our favorite pieces to show you guys our favorite pieces from the collections and the outfits we did with them. So, without further ado, let's start! 
PS: Sorry for all the music spam, I just could not resist to post that in this review. But, let's focus on what's more important.

Store Statement: Marc Jacobs Tribute

Brand new tribute coming in! It's Mr. Jacobs turn!
I had the text written for this since quite a few days ago but wasn't in the mood to take the pictures, now I'm so late I couldn't even take the pic of the stardoll banner... :(

Before starting reviewing this new collection I highly recommend the article written by fellow FM-Style judge Lucy (SunnySidesSue) as I highly agree on everything she has said there and it's a very well written and thoughtful review. You can check it HERE. And now let's get into business!

My first impression of the new tribute was bad. That background along with the display of the items in the outfits they created for the mannequins was a bit too much for me. Too strange, too extravagant, too odd, name it whatever you want, but I didn't like it.

 

I always like to buy at least one item of each tribute so that's the reason I paid more attention and watch more closely. This is how I find some very interesting items and ended up buying three of them:

I loved the quality of the silver pants and also their shape. I'm not sure how will I style them but they're not too extravagant either (the only thing more special about them it's their colour) so I'm sure they can bring a nice touch to many outfits.
A bit of the same thing happened to me with the yellow skirt. The shape is quite simple but it's good quality of graphics too, and the colour is fantastic. Can't wait to style it later on for this post.
And the last item I bought would be the white playsuit. I liked it when I saw it but was a bit reluctant. I didn't see many possibilities for it. Then I talked to Mireia to see what she liked and she told me she hoped I would buy it, since she loved it but didn't thought it fit her style. Basically she made me reconsider and I decided to give it an opportunity, let's hope I don't regret it!

The other three items are the ones chosen by my sister. I think the military jacket it's a very good item that I'm going to see a lot around stardoll and if one of the two had to buy it that was Mireia, I'm sure she will make the perfect outfit for it. I also love the texture and colour of the short pink dress and even though I'm not a lot into those kind of playful items with things like a cat face on them I do see the possibilities in that and I'm sure Mireia will be able to make me like it.

So enough talking. It's time to see how the styling part goes!

Store Statement: Tributes Gallery

I'm so glad I didn't get to do the Tributes Gallery Store Statement of the shoes floor. I had the images prepared but didn't put myself to write it and now I can do it together with the second floor... bags!

Stardoll decided to innovate this Tribute season bringing us Tributes Gallery: two floors, 1 of shoes the other of bags, with a selection of several designers items instead of just a one brand store. I'm quite happy with these. A whole store of Aquazzura (for example) might have been a little bit boring. Here are the items available to shop.

 

Both floors have very interesting items and the graphics are very good quality, plus the store looks quite nice.

I like very much the shoe selection from Aquazzura, loving the three of them. From the other three brands included in the shoes floor I think they could have brought something better but still, I like the blue stilettos from Christian Louboutin, the cream fur sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti and the butterfly sandals from Sophia Webster.

The selection of bags in general I think it's worse, less interesting items for me in terms of quantity, but the ones that I do like... well I'm completely in love. That's the case of the Prada shoulder bag, the Chanel crossbody bag and the light pink Louis Vuitton shoulder bag with toucan birds on it. By the way, I don't think they have ever released a whole Louis Vuitton Tribute... It's not my favourite brand but I think it would be interesting for a change. I also thing they messed up a little bit in size with most of the big bags, they look way too big for my taste, but I'm a sucker for little bags so maybe it's just me.

Anyway, we narrowed down our selection and picked our favourites between my sister and I, and finally, this is what we got.

 

And to finish this review some outfits with the items. Mireia abandoned me this time so the outfits are just mine, but better that than nothing right?

Store Statement: Saint Laurent Tribute

The new Tribute that Stardoll has released is Saint Laurent. After seeing the collection I can only say sing You're all that glitters to me... yeah yeah what's a king bed without a queen? After the "disaster" of the Gucci Tribute I guess that I would have liked anything, but really, I think this collection is pretty cool. This is how the floors of the store look like:

This collection has everything. To start with, it has basic items like the black jeans, the oversized coat, the choker or the marble bag. But at the same time, there are very bold items, with transparencies, unique forms and LOTS of glitter that makes it so cool. I'm loving it, for real. Also, look at the quality of the graphics! Incredible, the brown leather looks perfect, or the blue metallic dress. Each of us has their favorites, so without further ado... Here you have our picks: 

Lots of cool items, means lots of picks and... yeah, lots of outfits! Hope you enjoy them in this set that Judith is creating for every tribute so classic, elegant and that lets our outfits be the focus. Thank you Judith! 😊

Store Statement: Gucci Tribute

Second tribute is out! It's Gucci time!

To be honest I'm not even that thrilled. I was very excited when the first Gucci Tribute since Alessandro Michele took over came out. That one was really good, a lot of interesting and desired pieces. The next one, which I believe it was the one before this one, was still good, I wasn't as excited about it but still quite a few good items. But this one has been a bit of a disappointment. It captures the Gucci essence but they could have picked way better items in my opinion out of the actual collection. See it for yourselves.

 

The pink pants, for example, they're not bad, but I would have preferred the green, red... or any other colour version actually rather than the pink one. 

Most of the pieces are very extravagant and difficult to style in a casual outfit (feel free to make me change my mind posting your outfit in the comment section if you actually love these items ;) ). And what annoys me the most is that there are a lot of big items (the dresses with the long skirt or the flared sleeves, the big colourful jumper...) which adds up on the difficulty of combining it with other items, since you cant add jackets on top, for example, without something popping out. I mean you can always try with a little bit of resizing but it's definitely more difficult to style. 

The only great items for us were these three:

The men t-shirt is a basic, and it's been seen everywhere in the fashion world (bloggers, celebs...). The fanny pack and the snake boots are the only cool an interesting items they actually brought. 

That said here are our outfits with this small selection. Like I said, I hope I see some super stylish dolls wearing other items from the collection and so I can change my mind a little bit about this Gucci Tribute. What do you think of it? Were you too disappointed or is it just me?

Store Statement: Fendi Tribute

Hello beloved readers! The Sisters' are back and so are the Tributes. Good things are good waiting for, you know? Fendi Tribute is the first Summer Tribute to arrive and I have to say that we're pretty happy with it. This is how the store looks like:

The prizes are fair for a Tribute, more expensive than normal stores but still pretty affordable. There are no special items only for Superstar or Royalty, which I like, as it makes it possible for everyone to get what they wish for. I'm pretty confused with the season of the clothes... I know fashion goes forward but still, I think usually in the Stardoll World, Summer Tributes had summery clothes, and this new tribute is full with autumn/winter clothes. We love the pieces anyway, but when we saw it we were pretty exhausted and nervous about all those warm clothes with the Spanish sun heating our bodies at the same time. Anyway, those are our favorite pieces, that Judith flawlessly put together:
