Shopping: Socks

Wow. What is happening? I feel my fingers getting weird... I have a strange feeling in my stomach. Do you also see what I'm seeing?

Yes. I, Judith, am writing again on the blog.

I know, crazy. How long it's been? I'm actually going to check, I'm curious. BRB.

Okay, since August 2018... That's bad... I'm sorry. I would say I am going to try to write again more on the blog but I would be lying so... I won't say anything, won't compromise to anything and just get on with this post smoothly, as if nothing strange had happened.

This is completely normal. Just keep going.

SO! Back with another shopping post!

I've had this crazy obsession with socks on real life lately. I love a good pair of socks, they're so much fun, they're cheap and they bring an original vibe to your outfit. In real life they are perfect for spicing things up without having to invest a lot in cool or trendy clothes, but in stardoll are they really necessary? We have bigger closets, with a lot more clothes and a lot more of special extravagant items that make a statement just by themselves, why would we need a pair of socks?

Well, it's true, we don't really NEED them in stardoll, but they are still fun and they still look cute. And if you don't agree, hopefully I can make you change your mind after this post.

The offer of socks in Starplaza is... Mmm... What can I say? It could be better. I mean, if you go to the catalogue and check the number of items under the category "Socks" it's just 47. Take off some pairs from Antidote that you cannot longer buy and the ones for male dolls that you're not going to be able to use and you're left with a not that wide variety to choose from if you want to be picky. And the designs are all quite similar, we can count the special different ones with the fingers of one hand. But still, if you are a sock-lover like me you will still be able to find some good pairs for not a very high price. This is my selection.

If you are a member of FM-Style and have been following Cycle 16 you may know already about my love for socks, since we made a task from it. If you're not a member I don't know what you're waiting for to join to be honest...

We are about to post task 7 and we've got very cool and fun tasks ahead.

But back to socks, the thing is they can be the detail that makes your outfit go from cool to WOW. And the contestants proved it giving us entries like these ones:

In order of appearance: Roose (ClemenceMoss), judge Marta (Marta-43), Sandra (dobrapogoda) and Seda (Serqet).

I don't think I can make a better job than them, but I guess that for it to be a decent Shopping post I should put a little effort and bring you some outfits, plus it can be a nice opportunity to show you some socks I own from previous collections in Stardoll.

So here, doing my duty, I present you my three takes on socks.

1. The Gossip Girl school uniform.
Doesn't this kind of long socks with the stripes on top remind you of Blair and Serena wearing their uniforms to school in their own styles with their heels or boots, designer bags and headbands?

Spotted on the stardoll blogosphere.
Headed towards TheSSS.
Is it possible?
Is Judith_25 back?

The show might be a bit old, but its style and fashion still remains and with the right items you can still manage to look as cool as their stars.

2. The Sporty Spice.
The sport vibes with socks come as easily as the school uniform. They go perfectly with sneakers, in fact, sneakers+socks are one of my favourite combinations. They make each other better, like a good marriage. It's like if one sock said to the other:

If you wanna be my lover
You gotta get with my friends
*points sneakers*

Because the joke might be bad but it's completely true: sneakers look better with socks, a pair of socks looks better with sneakers.

3. The 21st century Cinderella.
If Cinderella had worn socks with her crystal shoes to the ball with the prince, maybe she would still have lost a shoe, but she would have looked a lot cooler for sure.

I love as well a more fancy take on socks, combining them with all kind of heels, stilettos, sandals... you name it! And honestly I think mixing them with transparent shoes is great, you can barely see the shoes so the socks get all the attention.

What do you think of socks? Do you like them? Do you use them?
Feel free to share your takes on socks with us on the comments section!
If I feel creative enough I might give them a little tittle ;)

Shopping: SUPER SALE 50% OFF (J)

I wasn't planning on doing this post, I was already happy and satisfied with what Mireia did a few days ago, but then I finally checked out those sales and oh my god, did I find bargains! I bought quite a few items, some of which I'm really excited about and I feel it is my duty as part of TheSSS to share them with you.

Before we get into what I bought and how I style it though... BEWARE. WARNING. A lot of outfits coming.

In fact I've got so many outfits (one per each item I bought) that I'm going to organise and divide this post in two categories: The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought & The Items I Only Bought Because They Were On Sale But Might Be Interesting. Let's start with the latest which might be more surprising and leave the others for a more boring and predicted finale.

The Items I Only Bought Because They Were On Sale But Might Be Interesting

Leading this category we've got two mini skirts that stand out quite a lot and not in a good way.

First one is from Rio and yes, at first look I also thought it was ugly. But then I looked again and at least the shape was nice. Another look and it has kind of a cool Versace vibe. One last look before buying and I'm fully convinced that it can make a good outfit. Hope I proved myself right with the one I made. Honestly, I know I won't wear it that often, it has way too many things on it to not be sick of it after wearing it just a few times. But it also can be that piece you need to make your outfit more interesting or to challenge yourself into creating something different and probably a lot cooler than what you usually wear.

Second skirt is from Vinyl and unlike the Rio one I do think it's cute, but its red colour is so vibrant that it kept pulling me off until, of course, they put a 50% discount tag on it and I decided to give it a chance. After doing this outfit I'm so happy I bought it. Combined nicely the colour can be a pro instead of a con that gives a nice and original touch to the outfit. More colour, less boring.

The situation with the ripped top from Velvet Orchid is completely the opposite to the skirts, is quite basic and that's why I bought it. To be honest I'm not a big fan of ripped tops and sweatshirts, looks a bit trashy to me, but the top had a nice shape that lets you use it underneath everything without disturbing layering and I thought it may be useful to dress down a formal look, which was my approach for the outfit.

And with the last item of our first category, the leather jacket from Bonjour Bizou, comes a little surprise/preview of The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought below, cause when writing the post I completely forgot about this transparent skirt from Evil Panda which had been on my wishlist for a while and should have also been in this post since I bought it when the Super Sales came. I think the detail of the long transparent layer on top of the miniskirt is really nice and can look good with all kinds of shoes. But enough about the skirt, we're here for the leather jacket, super cool with the drawings of roses in the sleeves and neck. The graphics could be better, that's true, but when you can buy it for half its price you don't really care about that. I love biker jackets and I love that they have something different from the usual black leather design.

The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought

This batch includes two pair of shorts, two coats and one bag and contrary to what I thought it wasn't that much easier to style than the previous category.

Take our first pair of shorts for example, they were and absolute nightmare and I'm not even happy with the outfit that came out. They're from Pearls and for some reason my mind told me that I needed a pair of shorts like this, that they would come in handy in all kinds of outfits. Still not sure if that is going to become the truth or not but I do think that they are pretty basic and having them will not hurt.

The black ones I found them on IT Girls a while ago and thought they were really cool with the lace up and those graphics which, purposely or not, make them look like velvet. I added them to my wishlist and finally the occasion to buy came with a lower price than expected. They're one of those items that is quite simple so you can wear them with almost anything but at the same time special enough to be cuter than just a basic pair of shorts.

Moving on to the coats, we have this nice and elegant white thing from Rio. The explanation for this one is quite short. I love white winter outfits. They remind me of snow, and snow reminds me of Christmas (even though we never have white Christmas in Barcelona) and I absolutely love Christmas. And how can I make a white winter outfit without a big and warm white coat? Don't ask me why I hadn't bought it yet because I don't know.

But I do know why I hadn't bought the brown one from Pearls, because even though I really liked it there was a little voice in my head saying that it was too preppy, too "good-student-in-a-rich-boarding-school-with-nice-grades-and-nice-friends". The voice is still there but I managed to make it shut up for a few minutes creating the outfit you see up there. And you know what? It was a good purchase, because in addition the coat is perfect for layering since it easily hides unwanted sleeves or other problems but without covering most of the torso.

And last but not least, we have this little fur bag from Voile, so cute! It's quite elegant but you can combine it also with casual clothes and still looks good and other than the little gold chain, which makes you want to go for gold accessorizing, you can use it with anything cause both colour and shape are quite simple, so yes, yes yes.

And off I go with my stardoll wallet half empty.

Shopping: SUPER SALE 50% OFF (M)

Hello dear readers!

It's been so long since we wrote something in the blog due to a huge lack of time. I've just found out the super sale in Starplaza, with some items at 50% and I felt inspired to share with you what I bought. I personally love this kind of sale, cause it makes me revisit those old floors and pay attention to every single piece of clothing that I don't already own. As the prize is lower, I try to think outside the box and what could I do with those pieces.

Those are the items I decided to add to my wardrobe:

Pretty n' Love
In this classic stores I just pay a look to the new collections and buy the things I absolutely love and add to my wishlist the ones I like. Going back to past collections made me realise that there are some cute clothes in nude tones that I never payed attention to and that they are so pretty that I decided to purchase.

Active
I've had already all the items I liked, basically all this Sport-City clothes. But, having a close look I saw those black biker pants that are so IN right now and they were only 50 sc so... BOUGHT!
Trails
I thought I wouldn't find anything else that I don't own already in this hippy/adventurous traveller store, but to my surprise, I think I'm going to give a chance to some cargo pants.

Bonjour Bizou
Well, well, well... I think this store is actually one my favorites, so I already owned everything I wanted. Found this dress though that is pretty cute and that with simple accessorizing could look very good.

Pearls
All those preppy clothes give me a nervous vibe that I can't stand. It's too repulsive for me, like I can imagine someone incredibly arrogant wearing those clothes and makes me hate all those pieces. For the purpose of the post I made myself find something I would want, and I bought that navy blue blazer that I hope my sister doesn't have. I checked - she does not own it wohoo! (If you're wondering, we have an agreement that we can't buy the pieces the other one has, to avoid similar outfits.)
Vinyl
As this store is already very cheap by itself it is very hard to find something to add to this post that Judith or I didn't have.

Rio
Ugh, this store. I think it's the one I'm more lazy to check out. And there're reasons for it. Because in fact, I didn't find anything to share with you in this post. But, I just remembered I did a post for this store, click here to check it out.

Velvet Orchid
Maybe it's because I already went into a deep exploration in this store for a post (click here) but I couldn't find anything I wanted.

IT Girls
Did I lose my touch? I did a small pause for lunch and suddenly I can't find bargains anymore. To pick something I bought this skirt. Basic leather pencil skirt. I did not own it. Now I do. Maybe it's because those are well known stores and I have already check them out several times? Let's hope is that.
Fallen Angel
I've always wanted this sweater. Don't know why I never bought it. I guess I explored this store a long time ago already. Luckily now there's sales so it's my time to buy.
Original Future
Urban clothes for years. I already own everything I like.

Evil Panda
And last but not least... I almost bought the leggings with white and black stripes. If they had been pants I would have for sure bought them but being leggings... I'm not too sure.

Okay, I didn't have that many stardollars. Now I'm officially broke. In the game luckily haha

And here they are the outfits I had the time to do. Hope you enjoyed this post!

Shopping: Velvet Orchid

Hello beloved readers of the Stylish Stardoll Sisters! Here I'm again to do something similar to what I did some days ago with another shop on the Starplaza: RIO. There are some shops out there that have been there forever and the clothes they have are... curious. My job here is to show you that we can get nice pieces even from the ugliest most curious stores.

This time is Velvet Orchid the store I'm gonna explore, due to popular demand...

First of all, I have to say that it's been way more easier than RIO. I mean, when I came into RIO everything looked so tacky extravagant and in Velvet Orchid there are some basic clothes like cute tops and denim that are a must in every closet. Browsing through the store I realised I own a great variety of things, check out for yourselves:

Between them are some pieces that I've used A LOT. For example the black pants (MUST HAVE), the grey top that is great to use underneath jackets, the ripped denim jeans for urban outfits or that golden jacket that does wonders finishing outfits. Then there are other pieces that I've bought because... starcoins. I'm talking about the silver pants (worn on a Street Style post recently), the iridescent skirt or that white-greyish sweater. The rest of items I think they are pretty cool and even though I haven't used them much, I'm proud of outfits I've made with them. The long dress is beautiful and basic, so you can use it being the center piece of your outfit or add tons of accessories on top. The sandals/boots/transparent shoes are very Kylie Jenner and even if I may or may not regret buying, they are original and with a bit of effort you can do cool things with them. Finally, the fringed jacket is very Macklemore style and it's a bit hard to style for the shape, but looks cool (outfit here). (And I almost forget those golden shorts that I think I bought once at Christmas, because they were gold... Do not buy those. No need.)

Then, there are some pieces that I'm always using when creating outfits in Starplaza that I plan on buying relatively soon.

For example, this two shoulder bags are perfect to end up outfits. The transparent small bag is perfect for when the outfit has already too much going on, and the comic bag is perfect for the opposite reasons, when your outfit is a bit boring and needs something to pop up. Then we have these furry boots that I think they look very original and even though I haven't created anything with them yet, believe that as I'm buying them sometime you'll see what I do with them on here. The latex socks come from one outfit I saw from Whitney (strobarycake) where she used them to create a pair of thigh high boots. I'm gonna show you how in the outfits below.

And finally your favorite part (I guess). Where I adventure myself in the dark world and try to do outfits with the rest of pieces that you can find at the floors of that hideous curious store in Starplaza. I'm kidding, there's actually some more items that are pretty cool and that I may end up buying.
I have to confess that I was not very inspired, I definitely think you guys can do better...

Share with us your outfits with Velvet Orchid in the comments below!
Between the outfits we like more we will be gifting you one of the Velvet Orchid items you used in the outfit (make sure it's on your wishlists).

Shopping: RIO

Mireia here again!
I was reading the new posts on my favorite blogs, and I came across with this comp in our partner blog SMW: "Ugly Duckling Comp: Part 2". It's a competition hosted by one of our judges in FM-Style, Lucy (SunnySidesSue), where you have to style a not-nice piece of clothing that was previously described on Part 1 (click here to check the entries and the winner's description).

The thing is that I went to try and style this piece at the store it belongs to, RIO. Suddenly, this pain came to my eyes as I was browsing through those virtual hangers with those hideous/tacky clothes... But then I started paying a bit more attention, and I realized there were some pieces that were actually not that bad. And then ideas for stylings started coming to my beautiful sometimes-not-very-useful brain. I was wanting to REALLY buy things, FROM RIO! Can you believe that? That's when I decided to create this post, to try to enlighten your lives and so you can see, there's life even after RIO.

First I want to show you what I had already bought on my own before deeply exploring the store:

The interesting part of this post comes now though, cause there were A LOT of items I ended up liking. Maybe I have a broad taste? Anyway, to present them better to you I've created various outfits marking the RIO items I've used.

And that is all for this post, I really hope you enjoyed it, and I highly recommend that if someday you're bored, explore those Starplaza stores and try new pieces! You will be highly surprised as I was today!

See you next time!

Shopping: Sequin Balmain Inspired Dress

This dress was the 19th window on the Christmas Calendar 2017, costing 25 SD. It's originally from Balmain.

I've been trying to find which Balmain collection it belongs to... With no luck. So instead, I'll just tell you why I fell instantly in love with it. It reminds me so much to the first Balmain collection I remember seeing and falling totally in love with it. It was back in September, 2011. Me and my sister had just decided to not just like fashion, but to be informed about it. We decided that we were going to buy one fashion magazine every month. We picked Elle for the first time, and as it was September it was accompanied by a nice Fashion Book with some of the looks from the fashion shows. We were loving going through the pages and picking our favorite designers, that we still didn't know that much about. That Balmain Spring Collection from 2011 was my total favorite. In that moment I decided that I was a Balmain fan. Little did I know that it was one of the last collections from Christophe Decarnin, as Olivier Rousteing was replacing him. I still like Balmain, but I've never seen another collection that I liked as much as that Balmain SS 2011. Maybe it was because I had this punk-Nirvana era, and I felt very close to the collection in that punk/trash style very Kurt-like, maybe it was because it was the first fashion show that captivated me as it was the first time I was getting interested in fashion shows... Who knows? It will always be my first, and I have a special love affection with that collection.

SO I BOUGHT THE DRESS! And then... I tried it on. And it's obviously nice, but it's one of those pieces that you can't really do a lot with them (or that's what I first thought), because it's so beautiful you don't want to cover it too much, but at the same time it's very elegant and a dress, so you can't add to many things. But... trial and error is always the best method, and I came up with 3 very different outfits that I want to share with you.

First one, is obviously inspired by that Balmain collection I've been talking about. Second outfit is trying the dress to be just a very beautiful dress, so just adding elegant accessories for the dress to stand out for itself. And third was... well, combining pieces I though they looked cool. Apparently, this dress is made for black and silver according to my outfits haha

Which one is your favorite?

Shopping: NEW IN

We have had several new stuff lately on stardoll. New floor of Pearls, MSW store, Nelly.com sales... And I was feeling inspired and on the mood to create outfits today so I decided to bring you this post! :) Here are the three items I have bought lately: a HotBuys top, a scarf from Pearls new collection and this hot pink turtleneck from the Nelly sales.

Technically I'm a little late with the hot pink turtleneck since it's not longer available (the sales are over) but hopefully some of you would have buy it too or already had it and this can inspire you a little bit.

Combining the turtleneck with a kind of sporty look was the first idea that came to my mind for this turtleneck. It's bright colour and it's simple shape makes it great for this style I think. I don't have that many sporty clothes, in fact, I think this pair it's the only sweat pants I have, but I'm quite satisfied with the final look. The bag and top, both bring something to the outfit that makes it more cute than just another sporty outfit.

My second look is more girly and has kind of an 80's Barbie vibe which I'm enjoying a lot. It was ages since I used that super wide belt and I think it's a perfect match with that skirt and top. Honestly (probably again for its colour) I think this turtleneck looks very good with this girly 80s-90s style, I also tried it with a dress on top and other skirts and I quite like everything, it reminded me of Clueless.

Third and last look with the turtleneck came out of trying different items. I guess it's also a mixture of the other too, it has a little bit of a sporty and modern vibe but I'm still seeing a little bit of 80's. I usually don't like showing the stomach so much but I think it looks really good with certain items, this top and this pants are one of them. Also, loving the Prada bag!

Next on, the other top. The HotBuys black asymmetric top from Rio. I totally recommend this purchase. It's a basic item with a twist, I'm sure I'm going to end up using a lot. It's really fitted so let's you layer and tuck it under bottoms however you want and the colour shading is really nice (there are some blacks in stardoll that are really annoying when combining, the sweatpants in the first hot pink turtleneck look for example). And also the price it's really reasonable for a HotBuys, which it's definitely a plus!

First idea for the HotBuys top was to combine it with a midi skirt. I was really hoping to pull out a cool outfit with a midi but flattering midi skirt with high boots underneath without showing leg skin. Unfortunately I don't own almost any midi skirt and it was impossible for me to pull that off, so I went for something similar but with shorter skirt and shorter boots. I like the final result but it's worse than how I wanted it to be. It kind of combines a 50's vibe (it seems like today I'm very into other eras vibes ahhahaha) with a modern touch.

Another idea I had in my mind for this top was combine it with something vinyl. I have a skirt from PPQ of this material that I also tried on and it looked really good but I preferred to use this pants instead, which I haven't worn in a long time plus they were more interesting to match. Not sure of how I would define the style of the outfit that came out, punk meets purple? But yeah, chains and studs, sneakers and aviator glasses, preppy hat with purple scarf... No limits! Which is a good way to show that this top goes practically with anything you want, like I said, a basic (MUST HAVE) with a twist.

The third look it's my least favourite. In fact if I wasn't so fed up by now of creating outfits I would repeat it, but I want to end this already so there it is. I wanted to go for a total black look for the top but ended up adding that jacket and the rest is history. I don't even think it's worth a name so I'll just refer to it as total black failure

And to end this post my favourite item out of the three, the scarf. Why? For so many reasons! It's nice, it's super cheap and it's EXTREMELY versatile. Like literally, you can place it almost anywhere and it's the perfect finishing touch. As you can see I went for it's original position, as a belt and tied on the arm, but there are so many possibilities! On a bag, on a jacket, on your wrist...

First look, no items from Millionaire Mansion but totally reminds me of it. So if you want to fake a Millionaire Mansion style here's what you need to go for. I like the combination of white blazer with white dress and white belt on top, the rest of the look it's a bit more "meh" and reminds me as well of an air hostess now that I look at it, but well it's still nice.

Second look, featuring the scarf as a belt. Definitely will be using this more times! I love the effect of the scarf with blue denim jeans and brings a nice pop of colour to the outfit. Also it makes me wish that I had a similar shirt in real life cause I would totally wear this, casual and comfortable but still cool.

The last look was supposed to be featuring the scarf as nice addition, Hermès style, to a bag. Don't know why I tried that dress with the Saint Laurent coat but I'm extremely happy I did cause it's what brought me the idea of putting the scarf on the arm and I totally love it! It reminds me of (WARNING! another era vibe about to come) 40's fashion with the coat, collared dress and the slight military vibes that the scarf on the arm brings, but obviously with a modern twist (hello sneakers and sunglasses!). I'm in love with the final result an is probably my favourite look out of this post.

And this are all my new and latest additions to my closet! All with very good prices and very good items in my opinion! Hope this was interesting or inspiring for you! ;)

Shopping: Fudge miniskirt

Hello everyone! Do you know kelzsprouse_1? It's a friend and former contestant of FM-Style Cycle 12! And do you know her amazing club? It's called as her doll: KELZSPROUSE_1 and it's fashion related, just like FM-Style. If you haven't joined yet, we highly recommend you to do so. They are currently on Cycle 2, with a great judge panel (kelzsprouse_1, kickherout, Malisandrew, strobarycake and yulissahermosa) and some great contestants! Task 4 came out recently, and I found it so interesting and challenging, that I decided to give it a try myself.

The task consists on styling this old Fudge skirt. It only cost 48 starcoins, in case you want to give it a try as well, it's affordable. The judges always post some examples and they did amazingly, giving new uses instead of as a skirt, and creating super gorgeous outfits.

In order of appearance: kelzsprouse_1, kickherout, Malisandrew & strobarycake.

I personally love those sleeves that Malisandrew created, or the belt on kickherout, or just using it as a top as Kelly and Whitney. However, for this post, my objective is to try some stylings using it actually as a skirt.

I got inspired mostly by 90s fashion for my outfits, and then I asked Judith to try and style it as well. She based her outfit on "the fusion of borders because they looked really nice" (literally said by her, only in Spanish haha). Enjoy them!

Shopping: Starcoin Treasures - Dresses

Let's be honest, Starcoin items are not very common, and most of the times they aren't even interesting, that's why when we find one that we like and has the little blue coin marking its price we get so surprised and happy. And for the same reason I'm going to help you find some little gems still available at Starplaza in case you missed them. Starting with dresses!

I must say we had a terrible offer of interesting starcoin dresses before Vinyl and Pearls came out, so thank you Stardoll for realising those two and fixing it. In these stores we can find three different dresses that are quite cute and can make really cool outfits.

The white one has a really nice shape, you can wear it under coats or big sweaters as I did in the outfit of the left (Mireia is modelling in this post as you can see) and achieve a more casual approach, or embrace its preppiness and go for a more elegant look maybe with some heeled shoes and white cute socks underneath.

The collared one in the middle I think its an incredibly good dress for a starcoin item. The graphics are high quality here! And I love its ending with the flowy semi-transparent skirt. I would have preferred it didn't have the white collar but you can't have it all, I'm not complaining. It's not ugly but it limits your possibilities at the time of styling it. Talking about styling it... Rule nº1 in Stardoll outfits (and suitable sometimes in reality too): if you don't like a part of an item, cover it. Must admit that before making my outfit I was a bit lost at how to style it but after my experience I came to two conclusions: 1. Due to its shape it looks definitely much better with heels & 2. I really like it combined with a similar tone of blue. I also tried putting a sweater on and I was quite satisfied with the result even if I ended up going for a jacket.

The black denim one on the left seems to be screaming: "put a t-shirt or a turtleneck underneath meee!!!" Which is cool if you're into that trend. I think this one looks really good combined with sporty clothes (hello sneakers!) or a more school-girl style vibe (hello oxfords!). I opted for the first one as you can see in Mireia's doll. And hey! No limits with this one, you obviously can wear it as well with heels (hello thigh high boots!).

I couldn't make this post and not talk about Basics. Basics it's a gift from heaven. Really really really good prices, everything for starcoins and well, the name says it all, Basics you must have. I'm a lot more into the black & white collection rather than the colourful one or earthy-tones one they released later, but the colourful long-sleeved dresses can come in handy too. However what I'm featuring here are the lace dresses. A COMPLETE MUST HAVE.

I must have used those lace dresses like a thousand times. The shape is really nice so they look quite well on its own, like in the first outfit, and you can also forget it's a dress and use only the lace part as the edge of almost any bottoms, as I did in the third outfit. Plus the shape it's really versatile, meaning that it isn't annoying or difficult to layer, you can easily place it making it longer, add different items to make them more different...

And in the middle a nice little extra. The red dress Mirdith's wearing is from Voile, it doesn't appear in the actual shop only if you look for it in the catalogue. The shape could be better fitting (the right shoulder looks a tiny bit wide and out of place) but can be easily fixed putting a coat on top. Plus as it's quite tight so you can easily layer or costumize it too. And what I love about it it's its sheer texture, it looks so delicate and nice and perfect for contrasting it with a casual or edgy look. When I styled it in Mireia's doll I added the black underwear underneath to go for that edgy modern vibe.

Hope you liked this post and find it useful! And if you want more I might bring you more of this with other categories of clothing! ;)

Shopping: Backpacks

Hello dear readers of the Stylish Stardoll Sisters!

Today I'm here to bring you a Shopping post, but a little bit different. It will be some kind of Surrounded by Trends meets Shopping. Usually, Shopping posts are about styling one piece in different outfits to help you decide if you want it or not, or for showing you different ideas for styling specific pieces. The other day I was looking at the statistics of the blog and realised the most viewed entry of this blog is one of those Shopping posts, styling the Keep Me Warm Scarf, one shawl that Stardoll gifted us. So, I decided I wanted to do another one. And then I remembered about this section I used to write in Vogue Daily (by Jelinna), where I talked about some trends. It was called Trend Report. I ended up only doing 3: Flatform sneakers, Baseball caps and Boyfriend jeans. But looking back at them the other day when I found them inspired me to make this Shopping I'm doing today.

As you can imagine if you have looked at the Trend Reports I did in Vogue Daily, I will first show you some options you have in Starplaza about the "trend" I'm going to talk about today. Then I'll show you some real life inspiration that I found online and finally I'll share with you some outfits I've done. I say, "trend" cause it's not actually a trend, but lately I've been obsessed about backpacks, and I totally want one. As I'm not buying it yet in real life, I'm calming my soul styling outfits with them on Stardoll.  Hope you like it!

Shopping: Sales Great Finds

Ok, so technically stardoll didn't say anything about Black Friday but they made their sales coincide with the weekend of the Black Friday so we'll just name them this way.

When I first saw the message announcing the sales I was beyond excited! I mean it has been a looooong time since the last time we had sales in stardoll. When I checked what was on discount I was a little bit disappointed, just the most old items, but hey, better that than nothing!

So sales in general are a great opportunity to scan the shops and consider buying that item you were never sure about, or that other one which is ugly but maybe it could work in an outfit. And that's what I did, and of course what I'm about to share. Here I present you five items that might have passed unnoticed that are now available with a discount and ready for you to give them a try! ;)

Fallen Angel Off Shoulder Shirt
This shirt has been on stardoll forever, that's why we can find it on the penultimate floor of the Fallen Angel store and why you might have not noticed it. And yes, before it was just a plain black shirt with an unusual shape, but now, after the off shoulder trend it's a really interesting item and with lots of possibilities. It can look great in both casual and more formal outfits. That's what I tried to show in my two outfits, in the first one looking super casual, the second one more appropriate for a night out.

RIO Girls Tee
I was never interested in this shirt until I used it for a Surrounded by Trends post (check it HERE), where I mixed it with a strapless dress. I think it can look really cool under other items with the gold letters popping out, as you can see in my outfits. The first one is the combination between the tee and the dress I already showed in the Surrounded by Trends post but finishing the outfit.

Velvet Orchid Four Buckles Shoes
Another item I noticed while doing a post for the Stylish Stardoll Sisters! This time was a Sharing HotBuys Advice post and I combined it with the Bonjour Bizou cut-out sweater from the October HotBuys. You can see the outfit below cause I was a bit lazy here and decided to use the same one. The shape of the shoes isn't outstanding and the quality of the graphics could be better but the buckles give a nice edgy touch and their burgundy colour is perfect for fall/winter outfits. And as you can see in my outfits works perfectly with both skirts and jeans. Oh! And now they're available for only 3SD, bargaaain!

Bonjour Bizou Embellished Spring Top
I don't know about you but I had never seen this top before. I would consider it more a bralette rather than a top, which means it functions pretty much as a bra, so you can wear it with a suit underneath the blazer or on top of a tee. It looks different from other bras/bralettes you might have with the flowers and fruits decoration (which by the way remind me of Dolce&Gabbana) and it doesn't require a big investment as with the discount it only costs 5sd, so it's definitely worth the try.

Riviera Hibiscus Print Headscarf
I love headscarfs, I think they look really cute and are perfect for bringing that final touch to an outfit. The problem with this one is that it's really colourful and flower inspired which makes it very summery and that might pull you off. Well, wrong! Obviously looks like it was made for a summer dress, but that doesn't mean it can't look good with winter outfits. On outfit number 1 you can see it bring that hipster/alternative touch to a casual outfit and on outfit number 2 a super elegant snobbish vibe (as if it was an Hèrmes scarf). The more I look at it the more possibilities I see, so definitely recommending.

And with that my sales great finds finish but I'm really interested to know which articles you got on this "Black Friday" sales to know your great finds, so please don't doubt about sharing in the comments! :)

Shopping: MSW 16' Powder Pink Tuxedo Pants

The MSW 16' store on Starplaza has right now the "Last Chance" sign, which means that in a few days you won't be able to buy its items anymore, so I thought I'd better hurry to do this Shopping post before it's too late and these pants are no longer available.

The moment I saw the whole set, the pants and the blazer, I fell in love with it. I love up to date suits and I love pastel colours so you can understand why I HAD to have it. But the thing is that both, blazer and pants have a lot of possibilities, not just together, hence the reason to do this post. And without further ado, here are the outfits.

The four outfits came out super easily, I think this is the fastest Shopping post ever (at least from me, I don't know how long Mireia usually takes to do them).

OUTFIT #1 - Powder pink monochrome
When I saw that coat in my closet, which by the way I have loved profoundly since it came out and still do, it was like finding the last piece of a puzzle. It made so much sense, they could have been made for each other. I went for light accessories of a similar tone so they wouldn't take attention from the coat-pant combo and took advantage of those gold buttons on the coat to break the classy vibe with gold choker and matching necklace.

OUTFIT #2 - Go casual
Pretty much same as the first one, I saw that t-shirt among my tops and went for it. My first idea was to combine it with the ripped denim jacket from Bonjour Bizou, which looked good too, but in the end I went for this blazer as I own the darker one and it made too much contrast with the light tee and pants. And again kept the accessories in the same tone as the pants.

OUTFIT #3 - The original set
Obviously I had to include an outfit using both the pants and the blazer, I mean, I know it's kind of the easy choice but it looks so good... Plus there's nothing wrong with wearing sets, sets are cool ;). I tried to dress it down a little bit going for a no-top and slightly boho accessories: sandals and bag with fringes. The cleavage looked a little bit uncovered for my taste so I added this pearls necklace to cover it a bit without having to add a top or a bra.

OUTFIT #4 - Black is the new black
This last outfit started a bit as a challenge. I wanted to prove myself I could combine the pants with other colours other than pastel shades, so I went for completely the opposite, the darkest colour in the palette: black. In order to pull it off I went for a top that had the slightest hint of black (straps and a bit on the chest part) so when I added other items in black they wouldn't look out of place. As the top had this lingerie vibe I decided to go for this trend that has been going on of wearing a bralette or similars on top of a basic white tee. Now that I had managed to have a touch of edgyness I was able to add the black biker jacket, black stilettos and sunglasses. And to top it all of the Chanel bag, which was perfect as it mixed a light pink shade with black.

So I have no more information to give you about the pants or the outfits, I already said it all, unless you want to know EXACTLY what I'm wearing, which in that case...
