Style Wars: Oversized Orange Sweater

When a new collection comes out it's the perfect timing to find more than one doll wearing the same thing, which means it's the perfect occasion for a battle! I found the other day ajenkam and AudreyHepburn. wearing this new orange sweater from Original Future and I thought we could confront them in a Style Wars. So what do you think Mireia? Let's get to it?

Oh yes! Loving this battle. This sweater is that typical thing I see in the shop and I think "mmm this could look good well styled" but for me it's like a waste of money as I don't like it that much, so it ends up being just an idea in my head. Then I see those outfits and... BOOM! Mind explosion! I think I have already a favorite though... But you found them, you start ;) 

I actually want to buy the sweater. I put it on my WL when it came out and after seeing these two I'm sure I'm going to buy it. 
Well I think this is going to be an easy battle because, as much as I'm admired at how AudreyHepburn. combined that bright orange with bright yellow, I am so in love with the combination of the sweater with the Subcouture bag in ajenkam's outfit. And I know you and your style well and I know that one is your favourite. ;) 

OMG! I don't know if it's a good thing that you know me that well or a bad thing... Am I that previsible? You're totally right. I do love (as always) the outfit that AudreyHepburn. (my good old friend Lauri) did, it's super elegant and classy. But yeah, Ajenkam is modern, a little futuristic, her doll looks super gorgeous... and totally makes me wanna buy the sweater. Don't worry, I know it's for you... I won't even try, cause I still think I won't be able to do something similar to what ajenkam did, and I will end up not knowing how to use it in a cool way. So, all for you. This has been the easiest battle sis, so short! You do the honors! Announce the winner :)

Style Wars: Ripped Blue Jeans

A few days ago one of our readers told us that Style Wars was their favourite section. Since we heard we've been trying to put together a new battle. It took us some time to find the right outfits but it's finally here!

Well Mireia, I think this will be a good one to debate. The four outfits are really casual and cool but very different at the same time. Not a surprise though, you can wear ripped blue jeans with anything, but anyway, I'm sure we both have our preferences and some things to comment. Definitely! I don't know who are you gonna chose as a winner before hearing my arguments, but I think there's so many options in here and all of them are so good that I don't know if it will be easy to get to a final decision. But, let's start and see! What do you have to say Judith? 

For the moment I agree with you Mireia, I don't think it's going to be easy to get to a final decision, that's why I think the best way to approach this is by elimination. I know for a fact that minaj131's outfit it's not going to make it for me. It's not that I don't like it, I think it's quite cool, but that kind of suitcase as a bag doesn't convince me at all. I like how all the patterns and items (other than the jeans) are super colour coordinated, but that bag... Definitely a bad choice for me.  There's something more that puts me off and I'm not certain of what it is. Maybe you can express it Mireia? What do you think of minaj131's outfit? Would it be the outfit that you eliminate first too?

I think you already just heard me loling! I just started to read your opinions, and I was agreeing with you about the "let's start eliminating instead of choosing our favorite", until I read that you're eliminating my actual favorite. I like all the outfits actually, but minaj131 has something special with the color combination, everything looks very coordinated, I love it. I'm not sure about the bag either, but looks edgy and different, so I pass it. I would have eliminated SarahVIP though. I don't know, her outfit doesn't look bad, but I like top part and bottom part, just that... separated. Blue shoes and black bag? Not for me. And the coat with those jeans... not sure it convinces me either. So... what should we do next? This is too funny to be true! Still can't believe that my favorite is the one you want to eliminate first. Don't you agree a little bit with me about SarahVIP though? 

Hahahahha let's leave for a moment minaj131's outfit then and if necessary we will discuss it again further. About SarahVIP, when I saw her outfit I was surprised cause I would have never thought of putting those items together. As you said the combination of that coat with those jeans it's unsual and I quite like it. I think her outfit looks effortlessly cool which is a great characteristic that it's not very easy to achieve. Now that I've read your opinion about it I can't help but feeling that is lacking something. I guess I love the style, that casual cool vibe, but if you look deeper the combination of items it's not that good. Before eliminating her though, I would like to point out her outfit it's the one that looks more different from all the others, which are a little bit sporty while hers it's not. That said, bye bye to SarahVIP. Byeeee! :) That leaves us with jufashionista4 and lenas. Let's go for it!

I love the man's sweater lenas used for her outfit, I used it too for styling a HotBuys and I love how it looks. However, looking at the whole outfit I prefer jufashionista4. The combination of items she has gone for may seem more obvious but I just love the final result. The vibrant red colour gives life to the outfit; the white turtleneck looks perfect in shape, colour and style for the coat and matches perfectly with sunglasses and sneakers; the ripped jeans go with the casual sporty vibe and it's colour accentuates the red of the coat and finally the black bag, I would usually think that is out of place between all that white, but nope! Maybe it's because the black shades of the sunglasses but looks great and adds this (sorry for using again this expression) effortlessly vibe, as if she didn't care too much about matching her clothes. So I think it's pretty obvious who do I want to win, unless you convince me of the opposite.

I'm super sorry but I have to disagree again with you. I'm getting sleepy here, and should end this as soon as possible, but! I don't like how the black bag looks on jufashionista4. I agree with the rest of the outfit, but I think it's too easy. It's what I would have pulled out if I had all these items around there. It's too easy: white tee, denim ripped jeans, sneakers and what is for me the trend of this winter: a big oversized winter jacket. The only thing she had to do was to add some accessories. The sunglasses are ok, but that bag? I don't like it! I prefer minaj131 suitcase than this bag. On the other hand, I like how in lenas' outfit everything gives you a masculine touch but casual at the same time, so over the two of them I prefer lenas. It's more different and elaborated somehow. 

After a quick deep look again at the outfits... Omg, now I'm doubting of everything in life? It's the Earth still round? I'm now liking SarahVIP's outfit, because it certainly looks different and (your favorite expression is coming) effortless! 

Okay, yes! I'm changing my mind. Let's eliminate minaj131 (that was your choice), and instead of eliminating SarahVIP as my choice, I would like to take out of the picture jufashionista4. There's nothing surprising for me in that outfit even if it looks cool enough. 

Ok, one for one I guess. What do we do know? Should we end this in a tie between lenas and SarahVIP, cause I would definitely vote for SarahVIP and I'm guessing you'll vote for lenas and we would keep arguing without getting anywhere.

Humm... I don't like ties... What if we put a score 1 to 10 to each and see who has the higher average score?

Style Wars: Floral Print Midi Skirt

Here we are again, with the second battle going on in the Stylish Stardoll Sisters, and we have a lot of soldiers today, haven't we? How do you feel about this big battle, Judith? Will it be more difficult to choose a winner? Or easier? Do you think you have a favorite before starting? In fact, before you answer all of this questions I'm asking you, let me say... YOU START this time! 

That's fine Mireia! You know I don't have a problem with talking or writing in this case. So, my first thought was that obviously this decision would be more difficult since we have more outfits to choose from, but with a closer look I already see my decision clear. 

If we pay attention to the shapes there's only one outfit that stands out from the rest, AudreyHepburn.'s. GossipGirlSBC and jjgangstevenjj look a little bit similar for the big coats on top of the shoulders and Lulluplix and oayes also look similar for the simplicity of the layering. AudreyHepburn.'s though uses layering without having a big coat on, so it's definitely the most different one.

If we focus on the colours it's also the most original. That use of red makes heads turn! And don't even get me started on that super cool belt which seems to be made for that fur best.

I also like a lot though the combination of colours in jjgangstevenjj outfit. She used the green of the skirt in the bag and the red in the shoes and looks lovely. And also the accessorizing in Lulluplix's one is AMAZING. That necklace she made... And the red key chain on the bag! So yes, if I have to pick one I would definitely go for AudreyHepburn.'s but jjgangstevenjj's and Lulluplix's are so good that deserve a mention. 

I feel like I have been talking forever... Sorry Mireia, your turn, what do you think? I actually thought this was gonna be more complicated... Here I go! 

At first sight I thought it was going to be difficult, but as you pointed out, I think AudreyHepburn.'s outfit stands out so much! Is super glamorous and fashionable at the same time. The thing is that usually I don't like when you put together different prints or like extravagant pieces together, but I don't know how this stylish finnish guy does it that I'm so in love with all his detailed outfits. I have to agree, AudreyHepburn. is clearly the winner on this battle, so let's give him a round of applause!! 

However, luckily we don't have to agree in all our decisions, cause I'm not a fan of that mix of colors you seem to enjoy so much on jjgangstevenjj. I do love Lulluplix outfit, and she's the only one that has added some white to the mix, as the rest of them have gone for brown-red-green tones, and white for me is always good. 

So... without further ado... Do you wanna do the honors Judith?

Style Wars: Black Culottes

Oh yes baby! Did we talked about a new section? I don't know if we mentioned it or not, but... surprise! Here it is! I guess that by the name of it you can already guess what's the theme: a style battle. And the thing is... how? Let me introduce you to this new section that Judith came up with.

The concept is simple, confront dolls wearing the same pieces of clothing. It can be the same exact item or just a style, like a white tee. We will search around the stardoll world for users wearing that specific piece on their daily outfits and then put together a collage with all the outfits we find. And then... the war begins!

Based on the blog of one of our partners, Glimmer (Styled On The Street), we took the idea of doing a collaborative post. So, Judith and I will be "judging" who we think that wins the battle, we will hold a conversation until and we decide a final winner! This time though it will be more entertaining, meaning we won't save anything that we think about the outfit. We won't have any mercy, we will be fierce and savages! So, be careful if your outfit is on the collage ;)

Oh wow, the first battle, this is exciting Judith! Don't you think? I do! I hope our readers find it interesting because I really hope we can continue doing this. Same thoughts! Let's get it started!! 

This is a very similar outfit that the dolls are bringing here. Not only they are wearing the item we want, the black culottes, but they also opted for a black outfit and the same stilettos. Personally, I think is a great choice of shoes for that type of pants. So, based on the rest of differences, (BarbieMinaj is a little bit more elegant, while gagapocker is more casual), I think I would choose gaga. I know it's more simple and a very easy look, but it can never go wrong. Plus, that off-shoulder top looks great with the choker and that blonde hair. I like it how she kept it simple adding just a small black bag and... done! On minaj... I like very much that transparent top and how you can see that Cleopatra tattoo underneath but... I hate that bag! I don't like the nose septum in silver and... well I appreciate how well she combined the outfit but gaga is better that minaj in here. Do you share the same thoughts Judith? Can we claim gagapocker the winner? Or do you have something else to say? 

Oh Mireia! First Style Wars post and we are already going to disagree completely. For me the winer is BarbieMinaj... What you said about gagapocker outfit it's true, all the elements she went for are perfect for the culottes, specially the big black choker which I love, but like you said she kept it simple, too simple for me to love it. I don't know I see her outfit and I think that's something you can pull out easily, while BarbieMinaj...'s is more different, original. I love how the sheer top looks with the jewelry and hairstyle and what a way to dress up those pants! They have a texture that makes them quite casual but she managed to make them look elegant and coordinated with the rest of her look. I'm not a fan either of the bag but I think she combined it well enough to make it look cool.

Maybe you're right on there... Even I admitted it. I do think that minaj is more "complete" in some way. But maybe it's true that if I came across those two outfits and I had to turn around to say "wow!", maybe I would do it for minaj (with that top bun and omg look at that contouring!!) and instead gaga would be just another teen girl. So... do we declare BarbieMinaj the winner of the battle? You have the last word!
