I wasn't planning on doing this post, I was already happy and satisfied with what Mireia did a few days ago, but then I finally checked out those sales and oh my god, did I find bargains! I bought quite a few items, some of which I'm really excited about and I feel it is my duty as part of TheSSS to share them with you.
Before we get into what I bought and how I style it though... BEWARE. WARNING. A lot of outfits coming.
In fact I've got so many outfits (one per each item I bought) that I'm going to organise and divide this post in two categories: The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought & The Items I Only Bought Because They Were On Sale But Might Be Interesting. Let's start with the latest which might be more surprising and leave the others for a more boring and predicted finale.
The Items I Only Bought Because They Were On Sale But Might Be Interesting
First one is from Rio and yes, at first look I also thought it was ugly. But then I looked again and at least the shape was nice. Another look and it has kind of a cool Versace vibe. One last look before buying and I'm fully convinced that it can make a good outfit. Hope I proved myself right with the one I made. Honestly, I know I won't wear it that often, it has way too many things on it to not be sick of it after wearing it just a few times. But it also can be that piece you need to make your outfit more interesting or to challenge yourself into creating something different and probably a lot cooler than what you usually wear.
Second skirt is from Vinyl and unlike the Rio one I do think it's cute, but its red colour is so vibrant that it kept pulling me off until, of course, they put a 50% discount tag on it and I decided to give it a chance. After doing this outfit I'm so happy I bought it. Combined nicely the colour can be a pro instead of a con that gives a nice and original touch to the outfit. More colour, less boring.
The situation with the ripped top from Velvet Orchid is completely the opposite to the skirts, is quite basic and that's why I bought it. To be honest I'm not a big fan of ripped tops and sweatshirts, looks a bit trashy to me, but the top had a nice shape that lets you use it underneath everything without disturbing layering and I thought it may be useful to dress down a formal look, which was my approach for the outfit.
And with the last item of our first category, the leather jacket from Bonjour Bizou, comes a little surprise/preview of The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought below, cause when writing the post I completely forgot about this transparent skirt from Evil Panda which had been on my wishlist for a while and should have also been in this post since I bought it when the Super Sales came. I think the detail of the long transparent layer on top of the miniskirt is really nice and can look good with all kinds of shoes. But enough about the skirt, we're here for the leather jacket, super cool with the drawings of roses in the sleeves and neck. The graphics could be better, that's true, but when you can buy it for half its price you don't really care about that. I love biker jackets and I love that they have something different from the usual black leather design.
The Interesting Items I've Always Kind Of Liked But Never Bought
Take our first pair of shorts for example, they were and absolute nightmare and I'm not even happy with the outfit that came out. They're from Pearls and for some reason my mind told me that I needed a pair of shorts like this, that they would come in handy in all kinds of outfits. Still not sure if that is going to become the truth or not but I do think that they are pretty basic and having them will not hurt.
The black ones I found them on IT Girls a while ago and thought they were really cool with the lace up and those graphics which, purposely or not, make them look like velvet. I added them to my wishlist and finally the occasion to buy came with a lower price than expected. They're one of those items that is quite simple so you can wear them with almost anything but at the same time special enough to be cuter than just a basic pair of shorts.
Moving on to the coats, we have this nice and elegant white thing from Rio. The explanation for this one is quite short. I love white winter outfits. They remind me of snow, and snow reminds me of Christmas (even though we never have white Christmas in Barcelona) and I absolutely love Christmas. And how can I make a white winter outfit without a big and warm white coat? Don't ask me why I hadn't bought it yet because I don't know.
But I do know why I hadn't bought the brown one from Pearls, because even though I really liked it there was a little voice in my head saying that it was too preppy, too "good-student-in-a-rich-boarding-school-with-nice-grades-and-nice-friends". The voice is still there but I managed to make it shut up for a few minutes creating the outfit you see up there. And you know what? It was a good purchase, because in addition the coat is perfect for layering since it easily hides unwanted sleeves or other problems but without covering most of the torso.
And last but not least, we have this little fur bag from Voile, so cute! It's quite elegant but you can combine it also with casual clothes and still looks good and other than the little gold chain, which makes you want to go for gold accessorizing, you can use it with anything cause both colour and shape are quite simple, so yes, yes yes.
And off I go with my stardoll wallet half empty.
